C. D.F. is not a hotel. It is our home. We live here permanent since we bought it and moved down from Sweden the 14th of July 2021.
Since then our lives continue. Though it’s been tough with a new language, change of school for our son, and unexpected obstacles on the way that have cost us more than we bargained for, it’s only made us stronger. That’s just the way life works.

The projects steadily continue as we restore the buildings, renovate and decorate rooms & salons -not to forget the large project clearing and recreating the domains vast areal of park and gardens.

Apart from delicate work and installations executed by professional & licenced stonemasons, electrichians, roofers e.c.t., we do much of the work here ourselfs. That’s why you’re probably going to see us working on some project while you’re here. In order to let C.D.F. flourish again by improving piece by piece, area by area, every working day counts.
Looking back on footage taken since we arrived in 2021 and then seeing the results today, no matter how small or big the project, the joy and satifaction seeing the actual improvements is the greatest reward we can get, and even more so if our visitors enjoy it too.
Furthermore, we try to use only local professional craftmen and artisans. We make that distincion very clear when planing the work we cannot master ourselves.

We’ve come a long way but there are endless work to do and it will never stop. But that is also the charm and devotion some of us like-minded see as a lifelong meaning. Creativity is a work ethic and needs to be nurtured, and alongside the understanding and respect for the several hundred years old buildings we have a responsability to pass the legacy on to future generations. That’s what it’s all about. We hope that you will enjoy this journey with us while you’re visiting C.D.F.
